OMNIVOLVE Technologies Names Vanderbilt and Fordham to Top Posts

Industry Veterans to Lead eCommerce Software Pioneer<

Rockville, MD – August 30, 1999 – OMNIVOLVE Technologies, a leading provider of BusinessCentric™ software solutions for B2C and B2B companies, today announced that Thomas P.C. Vanderbilt is the company's chairman and CEO and Dr. Bradley S. Fordham is the founder and CTO. With a proven track record of experience in marketing, business, software and Internet related applications over the past decade, Vanderbilt will be responsible for directing the company's vision and market strategy and readying the company for its initial launch. Dr. Fordham brings over a decade of experience leading advanced systems research and development for companies such as ORACLE, GE, AT&T and NIST. He will oversee all technology aspects of OMNIVOLVE’s revolutionary eBusiness solutions and is a member of the Board of Directors.

Before taking the top post at OMNIVOLVE, Vanderbilt was vice president of OneSoft Corporation. At OneSoft, Vanderbilt was responsible for developing the overall strategic marketing direction of the company and leading the company's re-launch, product repositioning and analyst relations efforts.

"Thomas brings the industry knowledge and leadership expertise that will enable us to capitalize on our tremendous growth and market opportunity,'' said Sir David Alcomb Turnquist, Kaleidescope Ventures. "His leadership will be an essential element to our growth and market leadership.''

Before joining OneSoft, Vanderbilt held several executive level positions in Silicon Valley and the east coast. Over the past ten years, he has reorganized, repositioned and launched several technology start-ups and most recently helped during the acquisition of Netcom by ICG Communications. His tenacity and reputation for cut-to-the-chase tactics has made him a favorite among his admirers and a thorn in the side of the vaporware pushers in the software industry.

"One of the biggest challenges in our space is to find the brightest and the best with the right mix of technology and business," said Thomas Vanderbilt, chairman and CEO of OMNIVOLVE. "Dr. Fordham is one of a handful in the world with a Ph.D. in electronic commerce yet he is the only person I’ve met that communicates this deep technology understanding in terms we can all understand.

Prior to OMNIVOLVE, Dr. Fordham held CTO and other senior technology posts with companies such as ORACLE, GE, AT&T and OneSoft. He has published numerous technical white papers on electronic commerce, the Internet and technology architectures. Dr. Fordham is the inventor on several pending patents and has presented at the World Economic Summit on electronic commerce and its impact on the global economy.

"I'm very pleased to accept this challenging role with OMNIVOLVE at such an exciting time for the company,'' said Vanderbilt, chairman and CEO. "With revolutionary products and a winning team, OMNIVOLVE is uniquely positioned to meet the growing demand among our vertical markets for enterprise-class, customer-focused eBusiness solutions. Our ability to deliver these leading solutions will continue to be a key differentiator for us as we advance our leadership position in the eBusiness software market.''

These appointments come on the heels of last week’s announcement that OMNIVOLVE will relocate its headquarters from Northern Virginia to Maryland’s I-270 Technology Corridor later this summer. The move provides access to one of the nation's largest technology talent pools, which is essential for meeting the demands of OMNIVOLVE’s rapid growth.
